A Golden Age
by
Anam, Tahmima
A Golden Age is a quiet but moving novel set in East Pakistan in 1971 during the Bangladesh War of Independence. An innocent young widow tries to protect her two older teenage children from the approaching chaos. Yet in her quiet way Rehana gets caught up in the war, as do her children, and she finds herself becoming more involved. I loved the setting and the well-fleshed-out characters!--Akankha Perkins, The Sun Of The Heart Bookstore (Bridgewater, VT) |

Quote of the Day |
 |
"Of all the inanimate objects, of all men's creations, books are the nearest to us, for they contain our very thought, our ambitions, our indignations,
our illusions, our fidelity to truth and our persistent leaning toward error."
- Joseph Conrad Notes on Life and Letters From The Quotable Book Lover (Lyons Press)

Susan chose the Metropolitan Ministries, and Annie chosen the Upper Tampa Bay Library Branch. And congratulations to 16 winners who will take 16% off their Inkwood purchases for a year, and yet another 16 who won free books! 16 has never been sweeter.
