When Eleanor is forced to undergo a heart transplant, Gerald discovers and reads her personal diary. The Heart is full of twists and turns as Gerald's faith is tested by tragedy and the shocking revelations in the journal. With its ultimately uplifting message, Knight's first novel is compared to the Christian novel The Shack by William Young. The Heart was inspired by many real life situations in Knight's career as an esteemed cardiologist here in Tampa.
