AUGUST'S BOOK CLUB SELECTION!
A Piece of the World by Christina Baker Kline
Inkwood's Adult Book Club is open to anyone with a desire to talk books, open their minds, drink a little wine, share stories, laugh and have fun. We generally don't read bestsellers, we try to read only books out in paperback and we try not to judge. You can be a regular, you can come only when the book interests you, you can flit in and out like a social butterfly. There are no rules of participation except to PLEASE buy the book from Inkwood to participate because we like to pay the light bill so we can see what kind of wine we're drinking. Come out!
ABOUT THE BOOK: To Christina Olson, the entire world is her family farm in the small coastal town of Cushing, Maine. The only daughter in a family of sons, Christina is tied to her home by health and circumstance, and seems destined for a small life. Instead, she becomes Andrew Wyeth's first great inspiration, and the subject of one of the best-known paintings of the twentieth century, Christina's World.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Christina Baker Kline is the author of six novels, including the #1 New York Times bestseller Orphan Train as well as A Piece of the World. She lives outside New York City and spends as much time as possible on the coast of Maine. Learn more about Christina at www.christinabakerkline.com.
